Introducing the ‘Planting Stories’ series: Jeff Olson, Catalyst Covenant Church

In the Northwest Conference, one of our mission priorities is to spread the message of hope, love and faith through Jesus Christ. As Jesus said in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” One of the most powerful ways we can do this is by starting new churches. For many believers, though, it is easier to answer why a town needs a new coffee shop than why a new church is needed.

Throughout this year, we will be recording church planters and pastors who sent out church plants, and other NWC leaders, to hear their answer to the questions, “Why should we start new churches?” and “How can churches be part of church planting?” We will post these first as short videos on social media, then as longer videos here on our website. We hope these videos will inspire, spark ideas and move us in mission.

Our vision is for every church in our Conference to partner together to start new churches. New churches are essential because they offer fresh opportunities to reach people who might not otherwise hear the gospel. Each new congregation brings its own unique energy and ideas, helping us stay relevant and connected to diverse groups of people. It also provides opportunities for leadership development and deepens our collective impact. We are ready to talk when you are ready to talk more about how you or your church can take your next steps!

Episode 1: Jeff Olson, Catalyst Covenant Church

The Northwest Conference wants every church to be connected to church planting. Why should we start new churches? How does starting new churches help the sending churches? Jeff Olson, pastor and church planter, shares his thoughts on these questions and more—describing the biblical call to plant, having a culture of godly risk and living with a “holy desperation” when we dream big with God.

Check out the video, pray for new leaders and church planters, and talk as a church about being part of starting new Covenant churches!
