First Peter addresses the lives of Christians who are being alienated by the broader culture. The first readers are described as aliens, strangers and members of the diaspora—a status that indicated their conflict with non-Christians. In our time together we will trace the main themes of 1 Peter, keeping our eyes on the text, the world of the addressees and our own contexts.
This event is free of charge, and lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to Cheryl Theilen if you plan to attend.
