In response to the many requests from our pastors for help navigating challenging political conversations, we are bringing in the founders of Braver Angels for a special pop-up webinar.
This interactive presentation will offer an understanding of our historic level of political polarization and what we can do as individuals and communities to counteract it. There will be an opportunity to share the particular challenges and opportunities facing religious communities in a divisive environment. The presenters are cofounders of Braver Angels, a national nonprofit dedicated to bring “reds” and “blues” together to bridge divides and move the country forward.
Bill Doherty is a professor of family social science at the University of Minnesota, where he directs the Couples on the Brink Project. About four years ago, he joined David Lapp and another colleague in founding Braver Angels with a mission to bring conservatives and liberals together for the good of the country. Bill is the principle designer of the Braver Angels workshops.
David Lapp lives in a rural village, South Lebanon, OH, and directs their Working People’s Project, an initiative to develop leaders in blue-collar and rural communities for depolarization.
While the presentation will be recorded, we highly recommend participating in the live presentation.
